Clinical Ambassadors

GIRFT has 20 leading clinicians appointed to its regional implementation teams as Clinical Ambassadors, working with clinicians and senior managers at local NHS trusts to improve quality of care in response to the findings of GIRFT specialty deep-dive visits and national report recommendations.

Clinical Ambassadors help chief executives, medical directors and other clinicians and managers draw up plans for the strategic opportunities raised across the separate GIRFT workstreams.

The experienced clinicians facilitate support for trusts to tackle the challenges and findings behind the unwarranted variation that the GIRFT deep dive visits highlight. The GIRFT hub teams support Clinical Ambassadors in their work.
